Mission

To transform the Research and Development efforts of the Institute towards increasing production of tasar silk from the present level to double by 2047, and thereby enhancing income of the stakeholders, especially the rural poor and tribal populace involved.

Mandate

To organise and promote tasar silk industry through basic & applied research, extension & technology transfer and generation of trained human resources in tasar industry.
